A bright double room with a large bay window in a calm, well-kept home on the Clapham South and Balham border, available for six months while the usual lodger is away. One monthly payment covers everything: council tax, gas, electricity, water, broadband, and a professional clean of your room and the shared areas every two weeks.
• The room: approx. 14 m² at the front of the house, with original stained glass. Very peaceful, very spacious, the largest and best room in the house (In my opinion)! Furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet, couch, desk and chair. Bring your own bedding, towels, TV and computer.
• The house: you'll share with the most chill, mature, welcoming and inclusive housemates you could ever hope to meet - The owner, who lives here, her son (part of the week) and one other lodger. Always an opportunity to socialize or be left alone should you prefer. It is a house for people, who share good values, communication, and common sense. It is not a party house (the landlady needs to be informed of any regular or prolonged visitors), however occasional, unintrusive social gatherings do take place, and everyone in the house is welcome to join in!
There is a Shared kitchen, sitting room, conservatory, bathroom, separate downstairs toilet, garden and garage with extra/bicycle storage.
• Location: 5 minutes' walk to Clapham South (Northern line) and Clapham Common; 10 minutes to Balham (Northern line and National Rail); supermarket literally across the road; G1 bus stop 2 minutes away.
• Suits: a considerate working professional and non-smoker (smoking outside only), with no pets, who can commit to the full six months.
Possibly someone looking for a place that helps them with a more long-term transition into or out of London.
• Good to know: This room is covered by a lodger licence with the owner, who lives here; not a tenancy. References and a Right to Rent check before move-in. There may be a chance to stay on after the end date by arrangement with the owner, but please apply only if six months works for you.
