Description
About me:
I’ve lived in houseshares for the past 15 years (mostly the same house before I moved here!) and I believe it’s really important to feel at home wherever you live and I really value community. I’m from the North but I’ve been in London for over a decade after 5 years in Paris. I love cooking/baking so you’ll often find some cookies on the cake stand on offer. I’m pretty social and often out at a pub quiz/gig/play or at my writing group/yoga for some down time. I’m also a big fan of cozy nights in and having friends over for dinner (and making far too much food!) and film nights. I work in policy and am hybrid so work from home part of the week. I’d love to find someone who wants to live in a home and sees the great advantage of actually liking who you live with! (I’ve made many friends through flat-shares…!)
The room:
A bright double room (furnished with bed and clothes rail and desk, but that can be removed) to rent in a beautifully furnished flat by Lloyd park/10 minute walk to Soho Walthamstow theatre. (Available from around 1st Dec, though there is some flex either side!) I’m looking for a longer term housemate, but I’m happy to consider someone shorter term for now. Maybe you’re finding your feet in London? We’ve all been there.. and it can be difficult so I’m happy to show you around!
The flat:
It’s a first floor flat (2 bed) so it gets lots of light…which we all need right now. Shared with just myself (details below so you get a sense of who I am!). There’s a large sunny living room and separate kitchen. Bathroom with bath and separate shower. And a beautiful garden. (With direct staircase to the garden from the kitchen which is pretty handy for BBQ weather.)
The flat is a 5 minute walk to Lloyd park, 10 minute walk to Soho Walthamstow theatre and 15 min walk to Walthamstow central/20 min walk to Blackhorse Rd station (both on Victoria line and overground to Clapton/Liverpool St and Hampstead in addition to lots of buses) . There are lots of cute cafe’s and shops around so it has the advantage of being in a really calm (and pretty) road but it’s close to all the of the fun too!
The area:
I’ve been living in Walthamstow for over a year and have really fallen for the place after over a decade in Hackney. Being 5 mins from Lloyd park and the lovely food market there every Saturday is a huge plus (I could talk about the cheese stall all day.). There are also so many great places for nights out/culture. My top picks are The Trades Hall (think cabaret/David Lynch nights/Jazz and much more) and Soho theatre which I’ve seen some amazing shows at which are both within a 10 min walk from the flat. There’s also loads of cute pubs (Rose and Crown which also has events) and the Bell. Lots of lovely cafe’s (Buhler and co) and restaurants (e. g Taro), yoga at East of Eden and a bunch of cute vintage shops! And Walthamstow Village is only a 20 min walk away with Times out’s top London pub (Nag’s Head.) We’re also walking distance to the many breweries with all sorts of events on Blackhorse Rd (Big Penny Social/Signature Brew..) and of course the wetlands and marshes.
If you’d like to come view the flat and meet me, do send me a message! (Ideally telling me a little about who you are!)
Thanks for reading,
Lisa
