Double Bedroom for short term let – Swiss cottage

Hi all,

I’m looking for a new flatmate to join my little rescue dog, Polly, and me in the flat we’ve made a home.

🏡 The room is available for 2 months only, from now until early/mid December.

The flat is located just off Finchley Road, with everything you could need close by. There are supermarkets, gyms, a leisure centre, pubs, cafés and plenty of public transport options all within walking distance.

The flat
The flat has a fully equipped kitchen, including two bar fridges — one of which would be for your personal use — and a small shared freezer. Also a clothes washing machine and dryer.

There is a separate shower room and toilet room with sink, as well as some communal storage for bedding and towels.

The lounge and dining area has a small balcony, and there’s space at the entrance for coats and shoes.

There is also a third, smaller room which I use as my stained-glass art studio.

Communal household items such as cleaning products, toilet paper, herbs, spices etc. are shared between us. Cleaning is also shared — previously we haven’t needed a formal schedule, but I’m happy to set one up if preferred.

A little about me
I moved to London for work around five years ago. I’m self-employed and work outdoors in the construction industry, normally Monday–Friday, although bad weather (particularly in winter) sometimes means I’m around at home or working in the studio.

I enjoy travelling and exploring new places, meeting people, creative projects, gardening/permaculture and cooking.

And then there’s Polly, my 8-year-old rescue dog 🐶. She’s very chilled and friendly, loves people, belly rubs and going for walks.

What I’m looking for
I’m looking for someone mature, clean and tidy who will treat the flat as a home and be respectful of shared and personal space.

It’s not a party flat, so I’m looking for someone who enjoys a fairly relaxed home environment. At the same time, I’d really like to find someone who is social and enjoys spending some time together — whether that’s sharing a meal, having a drink, playing board games, watching a series, going for a walk or just having a good chat.

You definitely don’t have to be social all the time — I think it’s important that we both have our own lives and space — but I’d like the flat to feel friendly rather than like we’re simply renting rooms next to each other.

A dog lover would be a big plus, as Polly is very much part of the household. 🐾

South Hampstead Overground — 5 min walk

Finchley Road Station — 11 min walk (Metropolitan line)

Camden Town — around 30 min walk

Paddington Station — around 40 min walk

Plenty of bus routes nearby too

Rent & bills
£900 per month for a single person, all bills included, covering:

Council tax

Internet

Electricity

Water

Gas

Rent is paid monthly in advance, with a £900 deposit.

The room is available from now until early/mid December, for a 2-month stay.
