π€ Lovely Double Room in West London β Reduced Rent in Exchange for Dog Care & Companionship
A lovely opportunity for someone who works from home and genuinely loves dogs!
I'm looking for a kind, responsible and considerate female housemate to share my home in W10, West London.
I'm offering the room at a reduced rental price in exchange for someone taking primary responsibility for caring for my little Yorkshire Terrier over an initial three-month period.
This would suit someone who works from home, enjoys having a little dog for company and would naturally treat her as part of their daily life.
It's important to me that she feels loved, settled and well cared for while I'm away. I'm hoping to find someone who will build a lovely bond with her and enjoy having her around.
πΆ A Little About the Dog-Care Arrangement
My little Yorkshire Terrier is very sweet, affectionate, clean and well behaved. She's tiny, hypoallergenic and doesn't shed.
She doesn't require daily walks. She's not particularly keen on going out in the colder weather and is happy using the balcony for her toilet needs.
What she really needs is:
- Someone around for company during the day.
- Regular affection, cuddles and attention.
- Someone who enjoys spending time with her and making her feel loved.
- Someone attentive to her daily needs and wellbeing.
- A reliable person who will make sure she's never overlooked or left feeling lonely.
The most important thing is companionship and consistency. I'd love her to form a close bond with one person rather than having different people looking after her.
This is a genuine responsibility, not simply an arrangement where someone occasionally feeds or checks on her. I'm looking for someone who will take pride in making sure she's happy, comfortable and cared for.
I'll explain her routine, preferences and everything you need to know about looking after her.
π» Who Would This Suit?
Ideally, someone who:
- Works from home, either full-time or most of the week.
- Genuinely loves little dogs and enjoys their company.
- Is naturally caring, attentive and responsible.
- Has good attention to detail and is organised.
- Is clean, tidy and respectful of their surroundings.
- Enjoys a calm, peaceful home.
- Is considerate and mindful of sharing a property with others.
I'd particularly welcome someone at a similar stage of life who is settled, mature and looking for a comfortable home environment.
Being at home and available to spend time with the dog is an important part of this arrangement. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be suitable for someone who is out working all day or frequently away from home.
ποΈ The Room
The room has been newly decorated, with new flooring and carefully chosen furniture to create a comfortable and welcoming space.
It includes:
- New double bed frame and mattress.
- Spacious double wardrobe.
- Desk, office chair and shelving.
- Overhead shelf for plants and personal touches.
- Reading light.
- Clothes hangers and laundry basket.
- Voile and thermal blackout curtains.
- Internal bedroom door lock.
The room is fully furnished and ready to move into. The furniture and layout are to remain as provided.
A waterproof mattress protector is provided and must remain in place, with bedsheets used at all times. You'll need to bring your own duvet, pillows and bedding.
π‘ The Home
The flat is on the fourth floor, with lift access and a secure entrance.
It comprises:
- Three bedrooms.
- Spacious shared kitchen.
- Bathroom with bath.
- Separate WC.
- Utility cupboard with washing facilities and cleaning equipment.
- Communal garden/outdoor area.
- Two balconies, one accessible to residents.
There are currently two other residents in the property, both with their own commitments.
The home is intended to be a calm, clean and comfortable environment. I'm looking for someone who naturally takes care of their surroundings, cleans up after themselves and is considerate of everyone sharing the space.
There is a monthly professional deep clean of the communal areas, and general cleaning products are provided.
The kitchen has dedicated storage available for your personal food and belongings, so it works best for someone who is happy with a relatively minimalist setup.
β¨ A Little About the Household
I take pride in maintaining a clean, organised and well-looked-after home.
I'm not expecting perfection, but I do value someone who notices the little things, takes initiative and doesn't need to be reminded to tidy up after themselves.
It's about sharing a home with someone who is thoughtful, responsible and understands that a pleasant living environment comes from everyone's contribution.

References will be required, and deposit arrangements will be agreed in advance.
π€ Getting to Know You
I'm hoping to find someone who sees this as more than just renting a room.
Ideally, you'll be someone who loves dogs, enjoys working from home and would genuinely welcome having a little companion around during the day.
I would love to find someone who is naturally caring, responsible, clean and considerate, and who will treat both the dog and the home with the same care they would their own.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, please tell me a little about yourself, your work situation, your experience with dogs and why this arrangement appeals to you.
Video calls will be arranged before in-person viewings.
I'm really looking forward to finding the right person for both the home and my little girl. π€
