Description
Double room in heart of Stoke Newington with a garden view on a quiet street.
About the Room:
The room is spacious and bright (3.43m x 3.25m), with a cozy double bed, shelving with railings, a sleek chest of drawers, and handy under-bed storage. It's fully furnished, so you won’t need to worry about bringing bulky furniture—just your personal items!
The House:
There’s a lovely, airy, newly-renovated shared bathroom with a shower/bath combo. You’ll also have access to the kitchen, living room, and garden, which gets beautiful evening sun. The kitchen has all the essentials (kettle, cutlery, plates, pans), but feel free to bring anything special. I have a bike shed also where you can store a bike. I have my car registered to the street and not sure if we can get a second permit - but can look into it if needs be.
The house is fully alarmed with Banhams for peace of mind.
Dates & Details:
This is a LGBTQI+ and POC-friendly household. We have decided to try out a boy for this next chapter, but still open to any gender. Current housemate moves out on the 23rd of May and so it is available on the 24th of May.
Important to Note:
You’ll need to love cats! My big, gentle boy Otto is the real king of the house. He’s low-maintenance but I ask for lodgers to give Otto some cuddles and help feed him while I’m away.
A Bit About Us:
I’m a filmmaker, and my housemate works for a major art company. They split their time between home and the office (3/2 days), and as a freelancer, I’m often in and out of the house. We’re a relaxed and respectful home, not a party house, but we’re all for the occasional dinner party or friends visiting.
What I’m Looking For:
I’m after someone (29-40 y/o) responsible, tidy, and kind. I take pride in keeping my home comfortable and welcoming as a live-in landlady. I’m not like your typical landlord—I address things quickly and aim to keep everything fair.
Transport & Area:
We’re a bit of a walk from the tube: Dalston Kingsland/Junction and Stoke Newington overground are 16-20 minutes away, but there are excellent bus links (30 mins to Shoreditch) and it’s just a 35-minute cycle to central London.
Money:
- Rent: £925
- Deposit: £1,100 (covers potential damages like carpet stains or wall scuffs, though there haven’t been issues so far!)
- Bills: with the Iran war it is hard to predict but at the moment it's coming up to £300 p/m with a cleaner, internet, water, energy, TV license.
I’ll send bills halfway through the month for transparency, and there’s a simple contract to sign before moving in.
Commitment:
This is a 2 months commitment starting no later than the 24th May.
Final Note:
I may not be able to respond to every message, but I’ll get back to those who feel like the right fit.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
