Description
Hiya!
Laura and I are looking for a new friendly flatmate. The room is free from the 4th of August.
We are looking for a professional over the age of 30. If you don’t fulfil this criteria then sadly we won’t consider you but we wish you all the best with your viewings!
THE FLAT AND THE AREA:
The flat is located on the third floor of a well-managed pre-war LCC council estate in Stamford Hill. It was fully renovated before we moved in– this means new bathroom, carpet/wooden floor and fully working kitchen appliances.
Council Tax is on band C.
The living room is bright and cosy, the shower has really good pressure, the kitchen is great and has anything you might need, including random things like an ice cream maker. These are all on the third floor of the building, along with the bathroom and one of the bedrooms. The other two rooms are upstairs.
The estate is a couple of buildings back from the main road, so it’s very well connected to local amenities (Big Morrison’s, Church street, Stoke Newington Station, Dalston all within walking distance) but at the same time fairly quiet. A 5-minute walk will take you to either Stoke Newington or Stamford Hill train station (direct train to Liverpool Street via London Fields and Bethnal Green) and a short bus ride to either Manor House (Piccadilly line) or Seven Sisters and Finsbury Park (Piccadilly and Victoria line).
THE ROOM:
The room is on the second floor of the flat and it’s furnished with a double bed, a bedside table, and inbuilt wardrobe and shelving. There is some space for extra furniture if you want to bring your own. Oh, big selling point: all of the mattresses have been recently changed, very comfortable memory foam.
US and YOU:
You will be sharing the flat with one male and one female:
Michael: 37 year old man from Newcastle, works in advertising for theatre and makes films occasionally on the side. Likes a pint and a meandering story, pretty chill.
Laura: 37 year old woman. Would as an academic and researcher. Likes reading, running, and going to the occasional club night.
We both tend to be pretty busy and independent, but we don’t mind sharing a glass of wine while cooking or watching a movie every now and then. This is not a party house but the odd midweek or weekend dinner with friends might happen.
We're looking for someone tidy and respectful who naturally cleans without being asked for and genuinely contributes to the homeliness of the flat. We are also an LGBTQIA+ friendly household.
We respect each others independence but we value the importance of community.
BORING BUT IMPORTANT STUFF:
- Room available on the 4th of August
- Rent for the room is £ 700.
Bills are excluded and usually around £ 120 pcm per person (this might be slightly different in winter), this includes electricity, gas, water, council tax and wi-fi.
- Deposit is £ 700 and the landlady requires a reference letter from a previous landlord and a letter from your work or alternatively a guarantor. The landlady is very nice and flexible as we have been in the flat for quite a long time.
If interested, please tell us more about yourself.
Viewings will start from Tuesday 4th of August.
